General Conference is the highest legislative body in The United Methodist Church. Every four years, delegates gather from all over the world to make decisions on behalf of the denomination.

The General Conference is a meeting of elected delegates with an equal number of clergy and lay members. In each annual conference, clergy members elect clergy delegates, and lay members elect lay delegates. There will be 862 delegates, 56% from the United States and about 44% from outside the United States. Each conference is guaranteed at least two delegates and our North Georgia Conference will have 22 delegates.
